Why We Suck by Denis Leary received a mix of emotions from us all. Some didn't like his writing style yet thought he was honest and funny. It was good to hear a male perspective on some topics, yet hard to read at times. The best part of being in a book club is reading books we may not normally choose for ourselves. Seeing a title like "Why We Suck" on a bookshelf may draw some readers in, and push others away, yet we all sat down and read this book. Take away from it what you will, and enjoy the company of great friends in the process. We rated the book a 6, which puts it just below "Running with Scissors" and above "The Known World". Thank you to Julie for hosting - great wine and food was enjoyed by all. Rhonda will choose the next book.......

Thanks Julie for the good food and great wine...which I drank too much of. I thought the discussion was so fun and it's always good to see everyone. One of the many things I like about book club is that we have constructive, fun discussions...usually not much gossip, bitching about whatever. I only wish that we could meet more frequently...2 months is too far apart...Sharon
Sorry I missed this book. I never got a hold of a copy, and didn't want to buy it. Will read sometime though if the opportunity presents itself. Right now I am on book 3 of the Twilight series. A little juvinile, but then it is for teenagers, but keeps you wanting to read more. Betti
